This sketch exhibits my view of the moon on Monday, September 3. It was bright this night, around 9:00 PM. I could see it through any clouds. In fact, it looked almost full. But, from my previous studies, I knew it had to be a waning gibbous.

This is what I saw on Tuesday, September 11. This was a nice night to get to see the moon. So much history happened on this day, I reflected on it as I looked. I wondered what the moon looked like on that day eleven years ago. This is the morning crescent phase.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I looked for the moon on Friday the 14th, Saturday the 15th, Sunday the 16th, and Monday the 17th. It was nowhere to be found. After research, I realized this was normal. This was the new moon phase. My last four formal observations provided no sighting of the moon.
