HELPFUL APPLICATIONS!
1.
Spacecraft
3D
This completely free app is one that focuses
on the work of NASA. This app allows the user to interact with spacecraft that
NASA has created. This app will provide the student with a deeper understanding
of the ‘eyes’ we have in space.
2.
Star Walk
for iPad – interactive astronomy guide
This app costs a mere $1.99 and I believe it
is well worth it. All you have to do is point your iPad toward a constellation,
and this app will name it for you. There is a share feature that will allow the
viewings to be shared with friends on other apple devices.
3.
SkyView –
Explore the Universe
This app is also $1.99. Like Star Walk, this app will name the
constellations you point your device to. However, this app will allow the user
to take an animated tour of the constellation and learn more about it. This app
is very educational.
4.
Science
Glossary
This app serves an informational purpose
only. It is free. While it is not interactive, I believe it is a great tool for
the student to have at their use. It provides a plethora of information for the
young growing scientist.
5.
iLearn Solar
System HD: Making Science Fun
This app is $2.99. It is more appropriate for
a younger age level. It provides illustrations of the planets in the solar
system, information about them, and interactive 3D lessons. It is very
informational and interactive.
